01About the course

What you will learn in Autodesk Inventor

Autodesk Inventor is 3D mechanical design software from Autodesk, the maker of AutoCAD. It uses parametric, feature-based modeling: you draw a 2D sketch, turn it into a 3D feature, then add holes, fillets, shells and patterns. Parts are put together into assemblies with constraints, sheet metal parts can be folded and flattened, and drawings with views, dimensions, balloons and parts lists are created straight from the model.

This page is for learners outside Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet – NRIs, professionals in the Gulf and other countries, and students elsewhere in India who want Autodesk Inventor taught live by a trainer.

Basic computer skills are enough to begin. Knowing engineering drawing and orthographic projection will help, and AutoCAD experience is useful but not required.

05Projects

Practice projects

Bench vice assembly

Model each part, assemble with constraints and create an exploded-style drawing with balloons and a parts table.

Conveyor frame guard

Design a sheet metal guard with flanges and punches and produce its flat pattern.

Pipe flange with threads

Model a flange with holes, threads and circular patterns and detail it with dimensions.

Plummer block

Build a bearing housing assembly and check it for interference before detailing.
