01About the course
What you will learn in GD&T
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is a symbolic language used on engineering drawings. It tells the machinist and the inspector exactly how much a feature's form, orientation, location and profile may vary, measured from clearly defined datums. The rules and symbols in this course follow the ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard, which is still widely used on drawings in Indian and global companies, along with its later revisions. Plain plus-minus dimensions cannot always control how parts fit and work together.
This page is for learners outside Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet – NRIs, professionals in the Gulf and other countries, and students elsewhere in India who want GD&T taught live by a trainer.
Basic knowledge of engineering drawing and dimensioning is expected. Some exposure to machining or a CAD tool helps but is not required.

How many hours is the GD&T course?
GD&T is offered at 1 level (16 h): Essential in GD&T – 16 hours.
Do I need to buy the software?
We teach; we do not supply software. Use your own licence or an educational or trial licence where the maker offers one. Our Software & Licensing Policy explains the rules.
Can I attend some classes in person in India?
Yes. Hybrid and fully offline options are available at our Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet centres on dates agreed in advance, depending on trainer and lab availability.
