01About the course

What you will learn in Automotive Embedded Systems

Automotive embedded systems are the small computers, called ECUs, that control almost everything in a modern vehicle – engine, brakes, airbags, lights, dashboard and infotainment. Each ECU runs C code on a microcontroller and talks to other ECUs over in-vehicle networks such as CAN, LIN and FlexRay. Engineers also use diagnostic protocols like UDS to read faults and flash software. This page covers a full 160-hour embedded course and a 48-hour course on automotive systems and validation.

This page is for learners outside Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet – NRIs, professionals in the Gulf and other countries, and students elsewhere in India who want Automotive Embedded Systems taught live by a trainer.

Basic knowledge of digital electronics helps. C programming is taught from the start in the 160-hour course, so prior coding is useful but not required.

05Projects

Practice projects

ARM-based dashboard display

Read inputs on the LPC2148 and show values on an LCD, with a keypad for user control.

Two-node CAN network

Send and receive CAN frames between two controllers and watch arbitration and errors in the trace.

ECU simulation in CANoe

Simulate an ECU node, build a control panel and drive signals with a CAPL script.

UDS diagnostic session

Send diagnostic requests such as session control, read data by identifier and clear DTCs, and check the responses.
