01About the course
What you will learn in Design Thinking
SKEP stands for Systematic Knowledge Enrichment Program. These are short 16-hour complementary courses from CADD Centre, run as four sessions of four hours. Each one walks a student through the design thinking process and then shows how a real engineering design moves from a concept, to a 2D drawing, to a 3D model, and on to analysis. There are three versions: building design for civil, electrical design development and new product development for mechanical streams.
This page is for learners outside Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet – NRIs, professionals in the Gulf and other countries, and students elsewhere in India who want Design Thinking taught live by a trainer.
No prior software knowledge is needed. Basic computer use and interest in your engineering branch are enough.

Yes. Design Thinking is taught live online by a trainer, with the same syllabus, hours and project as the classroom batch. Batches are planned around your time zone, subject to trainer availability.
How many hours is the Design Thinking course?
Design Thinking is offered at 3 levels (16 h): SKEP Design Thinking and Building Design Process – 16 hours; SKEP Design Thinking and Elec Design Development – 16 hours; SKEP Design Thinking and New Product Development – 16 hours.
Do I need to buy the software?
We teach; we do not supply software. Use your own licence or an educational or trial licence where the maker offers one. Our Software & Licensing Policy explains the rules.
Can I attend some classes in person in India?
Yes. Hybrid and fully offline options are available at our Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet centres on dates agreed in advance, depending on trainer and lab availability.
What does it cost?

Will I get a certificate?
On completing the course and its project you receive the CADD Centre network certificate. It is a skill-training certificate, not a degree or a professional licence.
