01About the course

What you will learn in MATLAB

MATLAB is a programming and numeric computing environment from MathWorks. Engineers use it to work with matrices, write scripts, analyse data and draw 2D and 3D plots. Simulink, which runs inside MATLAB, lets you build block-diagram models of systems and simulate them over time. Add-ons such as Simscape, Stateflow and toolboxes for image processing, signal processing, fuzzy logic and neural networks extend it to almost every branch of engineering.

This page is for learners outside Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet – NRIs, professionals in the Gulf and other countries, and students elsewhere in India who want MATLAB taught live by a trainer.

Basic computer use and school-level mathematics (matrices, basic equations) are enough to start. Knowledge of your own engineering subjects – mechanics, signals or control systems – helps you get more from the advanced sessions.

At a glance

  • 4 programme levels: 40–80 h
  • Live online, hybrid or offline in India
  • Projects assessed before certification
  • Certificate from the CADD Centre network
  • Batches fixed around your time zone

02Outcomes

Skills you will be able to show

  • Use the MATLAB desktop, workspace, command window and editor confidently
  • Create and manipulate arrays and matrices with built-in functions
  • Write scripts and user-defined functions with if, switch, for and while logic
  • Draw 2D and 3D line, bar and pie charts to present results
  • Build and mask Simulink models using sources, math, sinks and subsystem blocks
  • Simulate physical systems such as suspensions, motors and gears in Simscape

05Projects

Practice projects

Vehicle suspension model

Build a quarter-car suspension in Simscape and study how spring and damper values change the ride.

Gear mechanism from a STEP file

Import CAD geometry into Simscape Multibody and animate a working gear train.

Vending machine in Stateflow

Design a Mealy or Moore state machine that handles coins, selection and change.

Object counting with image processing

Use thresholding, labelling and blob analysis to count objects or cells in an image.

06How online works

How the MATLAB course runs online

Pick the mode that matches where you are and what you can travel for.

Live online

Trainer-led sessions on your own computer. Same syllabus, project and certificate as classroom batches. Evening, early-morning or weekend slots in your time zone.

Hybrid

Part online, part in the lab. Take lab sessions at Vellore, Katpadi or Ranipet when you visit India, and the rest online. Depends on trainer and lab availability.
