01About the course

What you will learn in STAAD.Pro

STAAD.Pro is structural analysis and design software from Bentley Systems. Engineers use it to build a model of a structure – a building frame, truss, tower, bridge deck or industrial shed – apply dead, live, wind and earthquake loads, and then check how every beam, column and slab behaves. It calculates forces, bending moments and deflections, and designs members to Indian and international codes. Consultancy firms, EPC contractors and design offices use STAAD.

This page is for learners outside Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet – NRIs, professionals in the Gulf and other countries, and students elsewhere in India who want STAAD.Pro taught live by a trainer.

Basic computer use and a civil engineering background (diploma or degree, or pursuing one). Knowing strength of materials and RCC/steel design basics helps you get much more from the course.

05Projects

Practice projects

G+3 RCC residential frame

Model a multi-storey building, apply dead, live, floor and wind loads, and design beams and columns.

Industrial steel truss shed

Build a roof truss and portal frame with the Structure Wizard and carry out steel design.

Seismic check of a building

Calculate base shear, run a response spectrum analysis and compare storey forces and drifts.

Transmission line tower

Model and design an overhead transmission line tower as covered in the syllabus.
