Steel works and fabrication suppliers
Structural, mechanical and electrical drawing roles.
The Ballari–Hosapete belt combines a large steel works, iron-ore mining and the tourism around Hampi. Learn the plant and booking skills it uses.
01Ballari and Hosapete
A large integrated steel works near Toranagallu, iron-ore mines across the district and a ring of fabrication suppliers form the industrial core, while Hampi’s ruins bring steady visitors to guesthouses and guides.
Plant and mining contractors rely on drawing and electrical skills, and guesthouse owners need bookings and billing they can manage themselves.

05Careers
A structural design engineer makes sure buildings, bridges, towers and industrial structures stand safely under their own weight, people, wind and earthquakes.
Day to day: study architectural drawings and plan the structural system; prepare structural drawings and reinforcement details.
Skills employers ask for: Load calculations as per IS 875 and IS 1893; Structural analysis and mechanics fundamentals; Engineering judgement and result checking.
Where careers start: Graduate / Trainee Engineer.
A power system engineer studies how electricity flows through generators, transformers, cables, lines and loads, and makes sure the network is safe, reliable and efficient.
Day to day: collect network data such as ratings, impedances and loads; coordinate protection relay settings.
Skills employers ask for: Power system fundamentals (per-unit, faults, load flow); Renewable energy integration basics; Electrical standards (IEC, IS, IEEE) awareness.
Where careers start: Graduate Engineer.
An electrical design engineer prepares the drawings and documents that show how electrical systems are built and wired.
Day to day: prepare single-line diagrams and panel general-arrangement drawings; draw control and power schematics in AutoCAD Electrical.
Skills employers ask for: AutoCAD Electrical schematics and reports; Electrical fundamentals and circuit protection; Documentation and revision control.
Where careers start: Electrical Draughtsman / Trainee.
