STAAD.Pro Course in Vellore, Katpadi & Ranipet

Model, load, analyse and design concrete and steel structures in STAAD.Pro – from simple frames to seismic checks and footings.

2 levels40–80 h177 topics3 centresClassroom · Online · Hybrid

01What is STAAD.Pro

What is STAAD.Pro? In plain words.

STAAD.Pro is structural analysis and design software from Bentley Systems. Engineers use it to build a model of a structure – a building frame, truss, tower, bridge deck or industrial shed – apply dead, live, wind and earthquake loads, and then check how every beam, column and slab behaves. It calculates forces, bending moments and deflections, and designs members to Indian and international codes.

Consultancy firms, EPC contractors and design offices use STAAD.Pro daily for residential and commercial buildings, factories, pipe racks, transmission towers and foundations. Employers ask for it because a site engineer who can also produce a checked structural model and design report is far more useful. Knowing STAAD.Pro is often the first step towards a structural design engineer role.

Vellore district keeps growing, with new homes, hospitals, college blocks and industrial sheds around Ranipet SIPCOT, so there is steady demand for civil engineers who can design structures. Design offices in Chennai and Bengaluru are also within easy reach.

What you will be able to do

  • Create structural models using grids, nodes, beams and the Structure Wizard
  • Edit models quickly with repeat, mirror, rotate, split and merge tools
  • Assign sections, materials, member releases, offsets and supports
  • Apply dead, live, floor, wind, moving and seismic loads with load combinations
  • Model slabs, walls and shells with plates, meshing and solids
  • Run static, response spectrum, P-Delta and buckling analysis and read the results
  • Design RC beams and columns and steel members as per code parameters
  • Design isolated, combined, mat and pile cap foundations and prepare a design report

02Why learn it

Why learn STAAD.Pro now?

Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.

Core tool for structural design

STAAD.Pro is one of the most widely used analysis programs in Indian design offices, so it appears in many structural job postings.

Turns theory into real designs

The shear force, bending moment and RCC design you studied in college become models you can analyse and check on screen.

Covers concrete and steel

You design RC beams and columns and steel members in the same software, which suits both building and industrial projects.

Earthquake and wind loads

You learn to generate wind loads and seismic base shear and to read the results – skills every design office needs.

Foundations included

The Proficient level adds STAAD Foundation Advanced for isolated, combined, mat and pile cap footings.

Report-ready output

You finish with analysis results, drawings exported to DXF and a formatted design report you can show at interviews.

03Who can learn

Who can join this course?

BE/BTech Civil students

Add a design tool to your degree before campus or off-campus interviews.

Diploma Civil students

Move from drafting to understanding how structures are analysed and designed.

ME/MTech Structural students

Use STAAD.Pro for project work on seismic, dynamic and P-Delta analysis.

Site and project engineers

Check member sizes and loads yourself instead of relying only on consultants.

Civil draughtsmen

Understand the design behind the drawings and grow into a design role.

Architects and interior designers

Get a working idea of structural behaviour for better coordination with engineers.

Before you start: Basic computer use and a civil engineering background (diploma or degree, or pursuing one). Knowing strength of materials and RCC/steel design basics helps you get much more from the course.

STAAD.Pro course – your questions answered

12 answers about levels, duration, eligibility, certificate, placement support and fees.

Still have a question? The counsellor at the centre you prefer replies on WhatsApp.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is STAAD.Pro used for?

STAAD.Pro is Bentley's software for analysing and designing structures. You model a building, shed, tower or bridge, apply loads such as dead, live, wind and earthquake, and the software finds forces and deflections and designs concrete and steel members.

Who can join the STAAD.Pro course?

It suits BE/BTech and diploma civil students, structural postgraduates, site engineers and civil draughtsmen. You should be comfortable with a computer; knowing basic structural analysis and RCC design makes learning much easier.

How long is each STAAD.Pro level?

Essential in STAAD.Pro is 40 hours and Proficient in STAAD.Pro is 80 hours. Sessions mix theory, demo and hands-on exercises. Your weekly schedule depends on the batch you choose.

Should I choose Essential or Proficient?

Take Essential if you want to learn modelling, loading and basic concrete and steel design. Take Proficient if you are aiming for a structural design job, as it adds seismic, dynamic, P-Delta and buckling analysis, the RC Designer, STAAD.Beava and foundation design.

What jobs and salary can I expect after STAAD.Pro?

Common roles are trainee structural engineer, design engineer and foundation design engineer in consultancies and EPC firms. Freshers typically start around ₹2.4–4 LPA, with higher pay in metros and with experience. These figures are indicative and depend on the company, city and your skills.

Can I take the STAAD.Pro course online or in hybrid mode?

Yes. STAAD.Pro training is offered in classroom, online or hybrid mode, depending on trainer availability at your chosen centre. The counsellor will confirm which batches and modes are open when you enquire.

Is there a free demo class?

You can ask for a demo or a counselling session at the Katpadi, Vellore or Ranipet centre before you join. It helps you see how classes run and meet the trainer. Message the centre on WhatsApp to book a slot.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. On completing the programme and its assessments you receive a course certificate from the training partner through CareerKraft. It shows the exact programme title and can be added to your resume and LinkedIn profile.

Do you provide placement support?

Yes, we offer placement support: help with your resume and portfolio, mock interviews and sharing of job leads we come across. We do not promise or guarantee a job – your skills, practice and interview performance decide the outcome.

What is the fee for the STAAD.Pro course?

Fees change with the level, mode and current offers, so we do not print them here. The counsellor at your chosen centre will share the current fee, any offers and EMI options on WhatsApp.

Do I need my own laptop?

A laptop is not required for classroom training because the centres have lab systems. For online or hybrid learning you need a Windows laptop that can run STAAD.Pro; the counsellor can share the recommended configuration.

Which centre can I join and what are the timings?

The course runs at all three CareerKraft centres – Katpadi (Near Aascars Cinemas, Katpadi), Vellore (CSI Complex, Anna Salai, near Raja Theatre) and Ranipet (Krishnagiri Trunk Road, near SBI, Muthukadai). Centres are open Monday to Saturday 9:30 am–6:30 pm and Sunday 9:00 am–2:00 pm.
