01Overview

About Mechanical CADD

Mechanical CADD is the set of software skills a mechanical engineer needs to design parts, check them and prepare them for manufacture. Our courses cover 3D modelling and drafting in SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor and Fusion 360; simulation in Ansys and HyperMesh; CAM programming in Mastercam; tolerancing with GD&T; plant piping in PDMS; HVAC design; and MATLAB for engineering calculations. You learn sketching, part and assembly modelling, sheet metal, surfacing and detailed drawings step by step.

This matters locally. Ranipet has the SIPCOT estate and a BHEL unit, and the Chennai–Bengaluru corridor, Sriperumbudur and Hosur are home to automotive, auto-component and heavy-engineering plants that work with 3D CAD every day. Diploma holders, BE Mechanical and Automobile students and working draughtsmen can train at Katpadi, Vellore or Ranipet and finish with a model-and-drawing portfolio. Programmes like Automotive Design & DMU and Product Design Concepts also teach how designs move from idea to a release-ready package.

How to choose: If you are new to 3D, start with SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor, then choose CATIA or Creo if you want automotive work, or Siemens NX (CAD, CAM, Nastran) for tooling and manufacturing. Once modelling is comfortable, add GD&T for drawings or Ansys (Structural & Fluent CFD) and HyperMesh for simulation roles.

Skills you will gain

  • Parametric part and assembly modelling
  • Sheet metal and surface design
  • 2D manufacturing drawings
  • GD&T and tolerance stack-up basics
  • FEA and CFD simulation
  • CNC toolpath generation
  • Piping layout and isometrics
  • Design review and DMU checks

06FAQ

Mechanical CADD – FAQ

Still have a question? The counsellor at the centre you prefer replies on WhatsApp.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which is better for jobs: SolidWorks, CATIA or Creo?

All three are widely used. SolidWorks is common in machinery and small firms, CATIA in automotive and aerospace, and Creo in industrial equipment. Pick the one used by the companies you want to join.

Do I need AutoCAD before SolidWorks?

It is helpful but not required. AutoCAD teaches drawing basics, while SolidWorks starts directly with 3D sketches and parts.

Who can learn Ansys or HyperMesh?

These suit mechanical graduates who understand strength of materials and basic fluid mechanics. Knowing a 3D CAD tool first makes learning faster.

What will I build in the course?

You model parts, assemblies and drawings, and in analysis or CAM courses you run a simulation or generate toolpaths as your project.

What is Basic Mechanical (Executive Diploma)?

It is a longer programme that combines several mechanical design tools for learners who want a broad foundation in one plan.

What is the fee for Mechanical CADD courses at CareerKraft?

Fees depend on the course and level you choose. Message the counsellor at your preferred centre on WhatsApp and they will share the current fee, any running offers and EMI options.

Can I learn Mechanical CADD online or only in the classroom?

You can choose Classroom, Online or Hybrid. The mode depends on trainer availability for your course, so confirm it with the centre when you enquire.

Do you offer placement support after the course?

Yes. We offer placement support: help with your resume and portfolio, mock interviews and job leads. We do not promise or guarantee a job, but we help you prepare well and apply with confidence.
