Many tools in one
Solid, freeform, surface, sheet metal, rendering and drawings are all inside one program.
Learn Autodesk Fusion 360 to sketch, model, assemble, render and document products – from first idea to a drawing ready for making.
01What is Fusion 360
Fusion 360 (now called Autodesk Fusion) is a cloud-connected 3D design tool from Autodesk. In one program you can sketch, build solid parts, shape organic forms with freeform (T-spline) modeling, create surfaces, assemble parts with joints, render realistic images, design sheet metal and produce 2D drawings. Files are stored in the cloud, so team members can view, comment on and share designs easily.
Fusion 360 is popular with product design studios, start-ups, makers, 3D printing services, small manufacturers and robotics teams because it combines many tasks in one affordable package. Students use it for projects, prototypes and competitions such as student vehicle and robotics events. Knowing it well helps you turn an idea into a manufacturable model and a clear presentation quickly.
02Why learn it
Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.
Solid, freeform, surface, sheet metal, rendering and drawings are all inside one program.
Freeform modeling lets you shape handles, bottles and consumer products that are hard to model with plain features.
Designs are saved online and can be shared for review with teammates or clients.
Clean solid models can be exported for printing and prototyping.
The interface is simple to learn, making it a good first 3D CAD tool.
In-canvas rendering and decals help you present designs in portfolios and interviews.
03Who can learn
Model parts and assemblies for projects and competitions.
Shape consumer products with freeform and surface tools.
Start 3D CAD with an easy-to-learn tool.
Design enclosures, brackets and robot parts for 3D printing.
Take product ideas to a realistic prototype model.
Try 3D design before choosing an engineering or design course.
04Levels & syllabus
