01What is Revit (Architecture, Structure & MEP)

What is Revit (Architecture, Structure & MEP)? In plain words.

Autodesk Revit is Building Information Modelling (BIM) software. Instead of drawing separate lines for each plan and section, you build a 3D model from real building elements – walls, floors, roofs, columns, beams, ducts, pipes and fixtures. Plans, elevations, sections, schedules and sheets are all views of that one model, so a change made in one place updates everywhere. Revit has tools for architecture, structure and MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing).

Revit is widely used by architecture firms, structural consultants, MEP consultants, contractors and BIM service companies in India and abroad. Many projects now ask for BIM deliverables, and Revit is one of the most common tools for them. Employers look for people who can model accurately, create families, set up views and sheets, and share models with other disciplines through worksharing and links.

Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet have steady construction of homes, colleges, hospitals and industrial buildings, and many BIM service firms work out of Chennai and Bengaluru. Revit skills let civil, architecture and MEP students from the region compete for these BIM roles.

What you will be able to do

  • Set up Revit projects with templates, units, levels and grids
  • Model walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, stairs, railings and curtain walls
  • Model structural columns, beams, foundations, slabs, bracing and reinforcement
  • Create HVAC ducts, piping, lighting, power and plumbing systems in Revit MEP
  • Manage views, view templates, visibility settings and filters
  • Create schedules, material take-offs, rooms, areas and colour schemes
  • Build parametric families such as doors, windows, columns and MEP equipment
  • Prepare sheets, title blocks and revisions and export to CAD, IFC and DWF

02Why learn it

Why learn Revit (Architecture, Structure & MEP) now?

Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.

One model, every drawing

Plans, sections, elevations, schedules and sheets come from the same model and stay in sync.

Three disciplines covered

Choose Architecture, Structure or MEP levels, or combine them for full BIM knowledge.

Real quantities

Schedules and material take-offs give counts and areas straight from the model.

Family creation

Build your own doors, windows, furniture, columns and MEP equipment with parameters.

Teamwork skills

Worksharing, central files and linked models reflect how real BIM teams work.

Demand in BIM services

BIM outsourcing and consultancy firms in Chennai and Bengaluru regularly need Revit modellers.

03Who can learn

Who can join this course?

BArch and architecture diploma students

Learn Revit Architecture for design and working drawings.

BE/BTech and diploma Civil students

Model structures and produce structural drawings and schedules.

Mechanical and Electrical engineers

Learn Revit MEP for HVAC, electrical and plumbing design.

AutoCAD draughtsmen

Move from 2D drafting into BIM modelling.

Interior designers

Model interiors, materials and renders from one project.

Site and project engineers

Ask on WhatsApp
What is Revit?

Revit is Autodesk's BIM software for designing buildings as 3D models made of real elements. Plans, sections, schedules and sheets are created from the model and update together. It covers architecture, structure and MEP.

Who can join the Revit course?

Architecture, civil, mechanical and electrical students, diploma holders, draughtsmen and working engineers can join. Basic computer skills are enough; knowledge of building drawings helps.

How long is each Revit level?

Essential in Revit Architecture, Essential in Revit Structure and Essential in Revit MEP are 40 hours each. Proficient in Revit Architecture and Proficient in Revit MEP are 80 hours each.

Which Revit level should I choose?

Choose Architecture, Structure or MEP based on your field. Take an Essential level for the core workflow, or a Proficient level if you want advanced modelling, families and coordination. The counsellor can help you decide.

Can I learn Revit online?

Yes. Classroom, online and hybrid modes are offered, depending on trainer availability. The centre will confirm the options for your batch.

Can I attend a free demo?

Yes, ask your chosen centre on WhatsApp or phone for a demo or counselling session before you join.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. On completing the course and assessment, you receive a certificate from CADD Centre, our training partner.

Do you provide placement support?

We offer placement support – resume help, mock interviews and job leads. A job is not guaranteed; your model portfolio and skills make the difference.

What is the Revit course fee?

Please contact the counsellor at your chosen centre. They will share the current fee for each level, any offers and EMI options on WhatsApp.

Do I need my own laptop?

Classroom batches use centre systems. For online classes or home practice, you need a Windows laptop that can run Revit; the counsellor can share the recommended specification.

What jobs and salary can I expect after Revit?

Common roles are Revit or BIM modeller for architecture, structure or MEP. Freshers usually start around ₹2.4–4 LPA, with higher pay in metros and with experience. These figures are indicative only.

Which centres offer Revit training and what are the hours?

All three centres – Katpadi, Vellore and Ranipet – offer Revit training. Hours are Monday to Saturday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
