01What is Ansys (Structural & Fluent CFD)

What is Ansys (Structural & Fluent CFD)? In plain words.

Ansys is engineering simulation software made by Ansys Inc. (now part of Synopsys). It lets an engineer test a design on the computer before any metal is cut. Ansys Workbench handles structural work – stress, deflection, vibration, buckling, heat and fatigue – using the finite element method (FEA). Ansys Fluent handles computational fluid dynamics (CFD), showing how air, water or gas flows through and around a product and how heat moves with it.

Automotive, aerospace, power, pumps and valves, heavy engineering and consumer products companies all use simulation to cut down on physical prototypes and late design changes. A CAE engineer who can build a clean mesh, set correct boundary conditions and explain a stress plot saves real time and money. That is why many mechanical job postings list Ansys, FEA or CFD next to a CAD tool such as SolidWorks, Creo or CATIA.

Ranipet's SIPCOT estate and BHEL unit, and the auto and component makers along the Chennai–Bengaluru corridor, all build parts that must be tested for strength and heat. Engineering students from colleges around Vellore and Katpadi can use Ansys for their projects and for CAE roles in Chennai, Sriperumbudur, Hosur and Bengaluru.

What you will be able to do

  • Explain how FEA works – elements, nodes, stiffness matrix, boundary conditions and key assumptions
  • Create or clean up geometry in DesignModeler and SpaceClaim for analysis
  • Assign materials from Engineering Data and set up contacts in assemblies
  • Generate global and local meshes and fix common meshing problems
  • Run static structural, modal, buckling, thermal and fatigue analyses in Workbench
  • Set up a Fluent CFD case with models, materials, cell zones and boundary conditions
  • Judge convergence and post-process contours, vectors and plots to report results
  • Use topology and shape optimisation to suggest lighter, stronger designs

02Why learn it

Why learn Ansys (Structural & Fluent CFD) now?

Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.

Move from drawing to proving

CAD shows what a part looks like; Ansys shows whether it will survive its loads. That skill sets you apart from a pure drafter.

Structural and CFD on one page

Pick Workbench for stress, vibration and heat, Fluent for flow, or both to cover the two main branches of CAE.

Hands-on with real cases

You solve cantilever beams, pressure vessels, brackets, brake rotors, heat sinks and heat exchangers – the same kinds of problems used in industry.

Strong base for higher study

FEA and CFD skills help with final-year projects, M.E./M.Tech work and research papers in design and thermal engineering.

Asked for in CAE roles

Analysis teams at auto suppliers, engineering service firms and R&D centres regularly look for freshers who already know Workbench or Fluent.

Theory plus practice

Every theory session is followed by a practice session, so the FEA concepts are tied to clicks you can repeat on your own.

03Who can learn

Who can join this course?

BE/BTech Mechanical students

Ideal for pre-final and final-year students who want an analysis skill for projects and interviews.

Automobile and Aeronautical engineers

Stress, vibration and flow studies are core tasks in vehicle and aircraft design.

M.E./M.Tech design and thermal students

Useful for thesis work that needs FEA or CFD results.

Diploma holders in Mechanical

Suitable if you already know a CAD tool and want to step into simulation.

Working design engineers

Add validation to your CAD work instead of waiting for a separate analysis team.

Civil and production engineers

Helpful for structural checks, thermal stress and fatigue of fabricated parts.

Before you start: Basic computer use and an engineering background are expected. Knowing strength of materials, heat transfer or fluid mechanics basics and one CAD tool will help you learn faster.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is Ansys used for?

Ansys is simulation software used to check designs on the computer. Workbench is used for stress, vibration, buckling, heat and fatigue studies, and Fluent is used for fluid flow and heat transfer (CFD). Engineers use it to find problems before a prototype is made.

Who can join the Ansys course?

It suits BE/BTech and diploma students in Mechanical, Automobile, Aeronautical and related branches, M.E./M.Tech students and working engineers. You need basic computer skills and some engineering background. Knowing a CAD tool helps but is not compulsory for the Essential levels.

How long is each level?

Essential in Ansys and Essential in Fluent are 40 hours each. Proficient in Ansys is 80 hours. The counsellor can share batch schedules that fit your college or work timings.

Which level should I choose?

Choose Essential in Ansys for a first step in structural FEA, or Essential in Fluent if you are more interested in flow and heat transfer. For a deeper, job-focused structural course, choose the 80-hour Proficient in Ansys. You can take Fluent later to add CFD.

Is Ansys training available online or hybrid?

Yes. Classes can run in the classroom, online or in hybrid mode, depending on trainer availability for your batch. Ask the centre which mode is running when you plan to join.

Can I attend a free demo class?

Contact your chosen centre on WhatsApp or phone to ask about a demo or counselling session. The team can show you the software and explain the syllabus before you enrol.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. On completing the course and its assessment, you receive a course certificate from the training partner, CADD Centre. It lists the programme you completed.

Do you provide placement support?

We offer placement support such as resume help, mock interviews and sharing job leads. We do not guarantee a job; your skills, portfolio of analysis projects and interview performance matter most.

What is the fee for the Ansys course?

Fees vary by level and current offers. The counsellor at your chosen centre will share the current fee, any offers and EMI options on WhatsApp.

Do I need my own laptop?

No, classroom batches use the centre's computers. For online learning or home practice you will need a laptop that can run Ansys; the counsellor can tell you the recommended specification.

What jobs and salary can I expect after learning Ansys?

Common roles are CAE/FEA engineer, CFD engineer and design and analysis engineer. Freshers typically start around ₹2.5–4.5 LPA, with higher pay in metros and with experience. These figures are indicative and vary by company, city and skills.

Which centre can I join and what are the timings?

The course runs at all three centres – Katpadi, Vellore and Ranipet. Centres are open Monday to Saturday 9:30 am to 6:30 pm and Sunday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
