01What is HyperMesh

What is HyperMesh? In plain words.

HyperMesh is a finite element pre-processor from Altair. Before any stress, crash or vibration analysis can run, the CAD model has to be cleaned, simplified and broken into small elements called a mesh. HyperMesh is the tool engineers use for that job: it repairs imported geometry, extracts mid-surfaces, creates shell, tetra and hexa meshes, checks element quality and sets up loads and connectors.

HyperMesh is widely used in automotive, aerospace and heavy engineering CAE teams, and in engineering services firms that do meshing work for global clients. Employers ask for it because meshing takes a large share of analysis time, and a poor mesh gives wrong results. Engineers who can produce clean, quality-checked meshes quickly are valued in CAE departments.

Students from the many engineering colleges around Vellore and Katpadi can target CAE jobs in Chennai, Sriperumbudur and Bengaluru, where automotive plants and engineering services firms run large analysis teams.

What you will be able to do

  • Navigate the HyperMesh interface, panels and model browser, and organise a model
  • Import CAD data, repair geometry and simplify features for meshing
  • Extract mid-surfaces and refine topology using Quick Edit
  • Create 2D shell meshes, including QI meshes and meshes without surfaces
  • Generate standard and volume tetra meshes and hexa-penta meshes using solid map
  • Check and fix mesh quality, and remesh poor elements
  • Create spot, area and bolt connectors and handle part replacement in assemblies
  • Set up loads, properties, beam sections and composites, and export to a solver

02Why learn it

Why learn HyperMesh now?

Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.

Entry point into CAE

Meshing is often the first job given to new CAE engineers, so HyperMesh skills open the door to simulation careers.

Used across industries

Automotive, aerospace, off-highway and appliance makers use HyperMesh to prepare models for analysis.

Solver-independent skill

A mesh built in HyperMesh can be exported to several solvers, so the skill carries across teams and projects.

Hands-on meshing practice

Every theory session is followed by a practice session, so you actually build shell, tetra and hexa meshes yourself.

Quality mindset

You learn how to check Jacobian, aspect ratio and other quality criteria – the part employers test in interviews.

Short and focused

Forty hours is enough to become productive at CAD cleanup and meshing alongside studies or work.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is HyperMesh used for?

HyperMesh is used to prepare CAD models for finite element analysis. Engineers use it to repair geometry, build shell and solid meshes, check element quality and set up loads and connectors before a solver runs the analysis.

Who can join the HyperMesh course?

Mechanical, automobile, aeronautical and production engineering students and graduates can join, as well as CAD designers moving into analysis. Basic CAD knowledge helps.

How long is the course?

Essential in Hypermesh is a 40-hour programme with alternating theory/demo and practice sessions. The weekly schedule is fixed with your chosen centre.

Which level should I choose?

There is one programme on this page, which takes you from the interface to solver export. If you want to run and interpret the analysis too, add ANSYS afterwards.

Do I need to know FEA before joining?

No. The course starts with an introduction to FEM and meshing. Knowing strength of materials basics will help you understand why mesh quality matters.

Can I take the course online or in hybrid mode?

Yes. Classroom, online and hybrid modes are available depending on trainer availability at your chosen centre.

Is there a free demo class?

You can ask for a demo or counselling session at Katpadi, Vellore or Ranipet. The centre will confirm a slot on WhatsApp or phone.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. After completing the programme and its assessment you receive a CADD Centre course certificate through CareerKraft, its authorised training partner.

Is placement support available?

Yes, we offer placement support – resume help, mock interviews and job leads for CAE roles. We do not guarantee a job.

What is the course fee?

The counsellor at your chosen centre will share the current fee, offers and EMI options on WhatsApp.

Do I need a laptop?

Not for classroom sessions, where centre systems are used. For online or hybrid learning you need a reasonably powerful PC or laptop, as meshing is demanding on memory and graphics.

What jobs and salary can I expect, and which centre can I join?

Freshers usually start as meshing or CAE trainee engineers at around ₹2.4–4.2 LPA, with growth as experience builds; pay varies by company and city. The course runs at Katpadi, Vellore and Ranipet, open Mon–Sat 9:30 am–6:30 pm and Sun 9:00 am–2:00 pm.
