Cochin Shipyard and marine suppliers
Ship-design drafting, piping and outfitting roles.
Kochi’s shipyard, refinery, port and Infopark tech campus give it a mix of maritime and IT jobs. Learn the tools behind both.
01Kochi
Cochin Shipyard, the BPCL refinery at Ambalamugal and the container terminal at Vallarpadam anchor a marine and process-industry cluster, while Infopark and SmartCity host IT firms. Kerala’s large gulf-returnee workforce adds a steady appetite for retraining.
Because many Kochi learners are already employed, evening online batches matter more than classroom proximity.

05Careers
A highway or road design engineer plans the geometry of roads, from village link roads to national highways and expressways.
Day to day: prepare plan-and-profile and cross-section drawings; revise designs based on site constraints and client comments.
Skills employers ask for: AutoCAD Civil 3D surfaces, alignments and corridors; Road drainage basics; MX Road alignment and road design.
Where careers start: Trainee / CAD Engineer.
An MEP / BIM engineer models the mechanical, electrical and plumbing services of a building in 3D and makes sure they all fit together.
Day to day: produce coordinated shop drawings, sections and schedules; coordinate with architects, structural and MEP teams to resolve clashes.
Skills employers ask for: BIM standards and levels of development (LOD); MEP design concepts (HVAC, plumbing, fire-fighting, electrical); Navisworks clash detection and review.
Where careers start: BIM Modeller (MEP).
An architectural draughtsman prepares the drawings that turn a building idea into something a contractor can build.
Day to day: draw floor plans, elevations and sections from architects' sketches; prepare working drawings, wall sections and staircase details.
Skills employers ask for: Revit Architecture modelling and sheets; Building bye-laws and approval drawing basics; Architectural drawing conventions and symbols.
Where careers start: Junior Draughtsman.
Interior designers use a chain of tools, from AutoCAD plans to SketchUp models and V-Ray renders. Here is what each does and how to learn them in order.

Ask on WhatsAppAutoCAD with PDMS is the typical combination for marine and piping roles.
Yes, many professionals use evening batches to add new skills.
Cochin Shipyard, the BPCL refinery at Ambalamugal and the container terminal at Vallarpadam anchor a marine and process-industry cluster, while Infopark and SmartCity host IT firms. A sensible order is AutoCAD first, then PDMS (Piping Design) once you are comfortable.
Siemens is very widely used in Indian industry and is a safe first choice. Choose Mitsubishi, Omron or ABB if your target company or plant uses that brand; the ladder logic basics are common to all.
PDMS (Plant Design Management System) is AVEVA's 3D plant design software. It is used to model equipment and piping, check clashes, and produce drawings, isometrics and material reports for process plants.
Yes, from home. Classes are live with a trainer, recorded practice files are shared after each session, and the certificate is the same whether you learn online or in a classroom.
