3ds Max Course in Vellore, Katpadi & Ranipet

Learn Autodesk 3ds Max to model interiors, building exteriors and products, then light, render and animate them as realistic images and walkthroughs.

2 levels40–80 h167 topics3 centresClassroom · Online · Hybrid

01What is 3ds Max

What is 3ds Max? In plain words.

Autodesk 3ds Max is 3D modelling, rendering and animation software. You build objects from splines, primitives and editable polygons, shape them with modifiers, give them materials and textures, place lights and cameras, and then render still images or animations. Its AEC objects, such as doors, windows, stairs, walls and railings, make it especially handy for building and interior scenes, while its polygon tools suit product and mechanical models too.

Architects, interior designers and real-estate developers use 3ds Max to show clients how a space will look before it is built. Visualisation studios produce interior views, elevations and walkthroughs with it, and product and engineering teams use it for presentation renders and simple assembly animations. Employers look for people who can turn a plan or a CAD model into a convincing, well-lit image quickly, and 3ds Max is one of the tools they name most often.

Vellore, Katpadi and Ranipet have steady residential construction and a growing number of interior and modular-kitchen businesses, and Chennai and Bengaluru have many visualisation studios. 3ds Max skills let local architecture, civil and design students take up rendering work nearby, in the metros or as freelancers.

What you will be able to do

  • Navigate the 3ds Max interface, viewports, command panel and quad menus with confidence
  • Model objects using splines, standard and extended primitives and compound objects
  • Build doors, windows, stairs, walls and railings with AEC objects
  • Shape and detail models with Editable Poly and object-space modifiers
  • Create and assign materials using the Compact and Slate Material Editors and UVW mapping
  • Set up photometric and standard lights, sun positioner and cameras for interior and exterior scenes
  • Render finished images with ART, Scanline and other renderers using exposure controls
  • Animate cameras and objects and export the result as a video file

02Why learn it

Why learn 3ds Max now?

Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.

Show designs before they are built

Clients understand a lit, textured render far faster than a line drawing, so visualisation skills are always in demand.

Interiors, exteriors and products

The course covers furniture, kitchens, living rooms, building exteriors and, at the higher level, headphones and gears.

Strong polygon modelling

Editable Poly tools like extrude, bevel, inset, bridge and chamfer let you model almost any shape with control.

Materials and lighting that look real

You learn the Slate and Compact Material Editors, UVW mapping, photometric lights and daylight systems.

Animation and walkthroughs

Camera paths, daylight shadow studies and object animations help you present a design as a moving story.

Pairs well with CAD skills

Combined with AutoCAD, Revit or SketchUp, 3ds Max turns a drafter into a designer who can also present work.

03Who can learn

Who can join this course?

B.Arch and interior design students

Present design ideas as realistic interior and exterior renders for studio work and portfolios.

BE/BTech and diploma Civil students

Add building visualisation to drafting skills for construction and real-estate roles.

Mechanical and product design students

Use the proficient level to model and render products such as headphones and gear systems.

AutoCAD and Revit users

Take your 2D plans or BIM models further into lit, textured presentation images.

Freelancers and home-based designers

Offer furniture, kitchen and interior renders to local builders, carpenters and shops.

Creative graduates

Arts and design graduates who enjoy 3D can build a visualisation portfolio from scratch.

Women restarting careers

Visualisation work is project-based and suits flexible or remote working arrangements.

Before you start: Basic computer skills are enough to start. Knowing how to read a floor plan or an engineering drawing, and some AutoCAD, will help you model faster.
