V-Ray Course in Vellore, Katpadi & Ranipet

Light, texture and render interiors and exteriors in V-Ray so your 3D models look like real photographs.

1 level40 h65 topics3 centresClassroom · Online · Hybrid

01What is V-Ray

What is V-Ray? In plain words.

V-Ray is a rendering engine made by Chaos. It works inside 3D programs such as 3ds Max and SketchUp and turns a plain 3D model into a realistic image by simulating how light bounces, reflects and passes through materials. Designers use its lights, global illumination, physical camera and material system to produce photo-real interior and exterior views.

Architectural visualisation studios, interior designers, real estate marketing teams and product designers use V-Ray to show a project before it is built. Builders use these renders in brochures and hoardings, and interior firms use them to get client approval. Employers want visualisers who can deliver clean, well-lit images quickly without endless test renders.

Builders and interior firms in and around Vellore increasingly use realistic renders to sell homes and win clients, and visualisation studios in Chennai and Bengaluru regularly look for render artists. V-Ray lets local architecture and interior students compete for that work.

What you will be able to do

  • Set up a render-ready scene and use the V-Ray Frame Buffer
  • Choose between production and real-time (interactive) rendering
  • Control antialiasing and shading quality and save render presets
  • Light interiors and exteriors with area, dome, IES, mesh and sun-and-sky lights
  • Configure primary and secondary GI engines for interior, exterior and animation scenes
  • Use the V-Ray Physical Camera for exposure, depth of field and motion blur
  • Create reflective, refractive, translucent and textured metal materials with bump and normal maps
  • Add aerial perspective, environment fog, proxies, instancer scatter and fur to a scene

02Why learn it

Why learn V-Ray now?

Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.

Photo-real output

V-Ray is known for realistic light and materials, which is what clients expect from a final render.

Industry standard for visualisation

Many archviz studios and interior firms list V-Ray skills in their job requirements.

Faster, cleaner renders

Learning image sampling and GI settings helps you balance quality and render time instead of guessing.

Complete lighting control

You work with area, dome, IES, mesh and sun-and-sky lights for day and night scenes.

Realistic materials

You build reflective, refractive, translucent, bumped and brushed-metal materials used in real interiors.

Portfolio-ready images

Every session ends with a practice render you can collect into a showreel.

03Who can learn

Who can join this course?

3ds Max and SketchUp users

Take your existing models to a finished, realistic image.

B.Arch and interior design students

Present studio projects and thesis work with high-quality renders.

Interior designers

Show clients how finishes, lights and furniture will actually look.

Civil and architectural draughtsmen

Move from drafting into better-paid visualisation work.

Animation and multimedia learners

Add realistic lighting and camera effects to your 3D skills.

Freelance visualisers

Improve render quality and speed for builder and home-owner projects.

Before you start: You should already be comfortable modelling in 3ds Max (or a similar 3D program), since V-Ray is used inside it. Basic knowledge of interiors or architecture helps you judge lighting and materials.

Ask on WhatsApp
What is V-Ray?

V-Ray is a rendering engine from Chaos that works inside 3D software such as 3ds Max and SketchUp. It simulates real light and materials, so you can turn a 3D model of a building or room into a realistic image.

Who can join the V-Ray course and do I need 3ds Max first?

Architecture, interior and civil learners, draughtsmen and 3D artists can join. The course uses V-Ray inside 3ds Max, so you should already know basic 3D modelling; if not, take a 3ds Max or SketchUp course first.

How long is the V-Ray course?

Essential in Vray is 40 hours, split into 20 sessions of theory/demo followed by practice. Your weekly timetable depends on the batch you choose.

Is there a higher level of V-Ray?

This page has one level, which covers the complete V-Ray workflow – lights, GI, physical camera, materials, fog, proxies and fur. To go further, combine it with Lumion for fast walkthroughs or AR/VR for building design.

What jobs and salary can I expect after learning V-Ray?

Typical roles are 3D visualiser, render artist and interior visualiser. Freshers often start around ₹1.8–3.5 LPA, and a strong render portfolio makes a big difference. These figures are indicative and vary by company, city and skills.

Can I take the V-Ray course online or in hybrid mode?

Yes. V-Ray training is offered in classroom, online or hybrid mode, depending on trainer availability at your chosen centre. The counsellor will confirm which batches and modes are open when you enquire.

Is there a free demo class?

You can ask for a demo or a counselling session at the Katpadi, Vellore or Ranipet centre before you join. It helps you see how classes run and meet the trainer. Message the centre on WhatsApp to book a slot.

Will I get a certificate?

Yes. On completing the programme and its assessments you receive a course certificate from the training partner through CareerKraft. It shows the exact programme title and can be added to your resume and LinkedIn profile.

Do you provide placement support?

Yes, we offer placement support: help with your resume and portfolio, mock interviews and sharing of job leads we come across. We do not promise or guarantee a job – your skills, practice and interview performance decide the outcome.

What is the fee for the V-Ray course?

Fees change with the level, mode and current offers, so we do not print them here. The counsellor at your chosen centre will share the current fee, any offers and EMI options on WhatsApp.

Do I need my own laptop?

Classroom batches use the centre's lab systems. For online or hybrid learning you need a Windows laptop or desktop that can run 3ds Max with V-Ray – a good processor, 16 GB RAM and a dedicated graphics card are recommended. Ask the counsellor for the exact configuration.

Which centre can I join and what are the timings?

The course runs at all three CareerKraft centres – Katpadi (Near Aascars Cinemas, Katpadi), Vellore (CSI Complex, Anna Salai, near Raja Theatre) and Ranipet (Krishnagiri Trunk Road, near SBI, Muthukadai). Centres are open Monday to Saturday 9:30 am–6:30 pm and Sunday 9:00 am–2:00 pm.
