Heavy-engineering plant and suppliers
Mechanical design, analysis and drafting.
Ranchi hosts a heavy-engineering corporation, a technology institute and Jharkhand’s state offices. Learn the design, plant and office skills those employers ask for.
01Ranchi
A heavy-engineering corporation and its supplier base, the Mesra technology institute, state government offices and the mining and steel employers across Jharkhand make up the city’s job market.
Engineers value drawing, analysis and automation skills, while the wider economy needs accounts and reporting staff.
In Ranchi, STAAD Pro and AutoCAD support the structural side while Creo and ANSYS suit mechanical design teams, so choose by the branch you studied.

Professional level: Civil and structural engineers who want the full 80-hour workflow including seismic, dynamic analysis, interactive RC design and foundation design.
05Careers
A structural design engineer makes sure buildings, bridges, towers and industrial structures stand safely under their own weight, people, wind and earthquakes.
Day to day: apply dead, live, wind and seismic loads as per IS codes; model buildings and structures in ETABS or STAAD.Pro.
Skills employers ask for: ETABS modelling for multi-storey buildings; Reinforcement detailing and bar bending schedules; RCC and steel design as per IS 456 and IS 800.
Where careers start: Graduate / Trainee Engineer.
A mechanical design engineer turns a product idea into accurate 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings.
Day to day: select materials, fasteners and standard parts to balance strength and cost; check assemblies for interference, clearance and motion before prototypes are made.
Skills employers ask for: Sheet metal and surface modelling; Clear communication with shop-floor and quality teams; Basic strength-of-materials calculations.
Where careers start: Trainee / CAD Draughtsman.
A CAE / FEA analyst uses computer simulation to check whether a part or structure will survive the loads it faces in real life.
Day to day: clean and simplify CAD geometry and extract mid-surfaces for meshing; write clear analysis reports with design-change suggestions for the design team.
Skills employers ask for: Nonlinear and contact analysis basics in Abaqus; Result interpretation and hand-calculation sanity checks; Strength of materials and machine design fundamentals.
Where careers start: CAE Trainee.

Still have a question? Message us on WhatsApp.
Ask on WhatsAppCreo, ANSYS and electrical CAD are the usual choices.
Yes. Evening and weekend batches suit college timetables.
A heavy-engineering corporation and its supplier base, the Mesra technology institute, state government offices and the mining and steel employers across Jharkhand make up the city’s job market. A sensible order is Creo first, then Ansys (Structural & Fluent CFD) once you are comfortable.
STAAD.Pro is Bentley's software for analysing and designing structures. You model a building, shed, tower or bridge, apply loads such as dead, live, wind and earthquake, and the software finds forces and deflections and designs concrete and steel members.
Ansys is simulation software used to check designs on the computer. Workbench is used for stress, vibration, buckling, heat and fatigue studies, and Fluent is used for fluid flow and heat transfer (CFD). Engineers use it to find problems before a prototype is made.
Yes, from home. Classes are live with a trainer, recorded practice files are shared after each session, and the certificate is the same whether you learn online or in a classroom.
