02Inside the course
What the Creo internship builds on
Creo Parametric is 3D CAD software from PTC, the company behind the earlier Pro/ENGINEER. It builds parts from sketches and features that are driven by dimensions, so changing one value updates the part, the assembly and the drawing together.
Working through Creo, you will learn to set up a working directory and manage Creo files and part templates, create fully constrained sketches with correct design intent and model parts with extrudes, revolves, ribs, holes, shells, rounds, chamfers and drafts.
You will work with Creo Parametric Sketcher, Part modeling features and Variable section sweeps and swept blends; the Essential in Creo programme includes modules such as Creo Parametric Concepts and Interface, Sketcher and Extrudes, Revolves and Ribs.
Roles to aim for include CAD Design Engineer – models parts and assemblies in Creo and releases drawings for manufacturing and Product Design Engineer – develops new components and updates existing designs based on feedback. Basic computer skills are enough to start. Knowledge of engineering drawing and orthographic projection makes the course much easier.

Do I get a certificate?
Yes – you receive an internship completion certificate after completing the programme and the project review.
Is it a paid internship?
It is a fee-based internship course you can take while still studying, with a mini-project and certificate. It is not a job and does not include a stipend. Graduates who have completed their degree can apply for a stipend-based internship with CareerKraft on our Work with us page.
What is Creo?
Creo Parametric is 3D CAD software from PTC. It is used to design parts, assemblies, sheet metal and surfaced shapes and to create manufacturing drawings. Changes to dimensions flow through the part, assembly and drawing automatically.
Who can learn Creo?
Mechanical, Automobile, Production and related engineering students, diploma and ITI holders, and working draughtsmen or designers can join. Basic computer knowledge is enough to start. Engineering drawing knowledge helps a lot.
Where can I do it?
