Foundation for every language
Concepts like variables, loops, functions and memory carry straight over to C++, Java and Python.
Build a strong programming foundation in C – from variables and loops to pointers, memory management, GCC and make files.
01What is C Programming
C is a general-purpose programming language created by Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs in the early 1970s. It gives you close control over memory and hardware while still being readable, which is why operating systems such as Linux, many compilers and most embedded firmware are written in it. Learning C teaches how a program really works: data types, memory addresses, functions and how source code becomes an executable.
C is still used heavily in embedded systems, automotive electronics, networking equipment, operating systems and device drivers. Many engineering syllabi and campus placement tests begin with C questions on loops, arrays, pointers and structures. Employers in embedded and systems roles expect C, and developers in other languages find that a solid C base makes C++, Java and Python easier to learn.
02Why learn it
Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.
Concepts like variables, loops, functions and memory carry straight over to C++, Java and Python.
Microcontroller firmware and automotive ECUs are mostly written in C, so it is the entry point to embedded careers.
Aptitude and coding rounds in campus drives often test C basics such as pointers, arrays and output-prediction questions.
Pointers and dynamic memory management show you what happens inside the computer, which makes you a better programmer.
You compile with GNU GCC, create libraries and write make files – the same tools used in professional C projects.
At 24 hours, the course fits alongside college or work and gives you a complete base quickly.
03Who can learn
Start programming before college with the language most degree courses teach first.
Prepare for semester exams, lab work and placement coding rounds.
Build the C base needed for microcontroller and embedded systems work.
Strengthen your programming fundamentals with hands-on practice.
Learn logical thinking and programming basics as a first step into IT.
Refresh C skills for embedded, testing or support roles that use it.
04Levels & syllabus
2 programmes on one page. Pick a level to see its modules and every topic covered.
Beginners and students who want the same 24-hour C syllabus through the Livewire programme.
Engineering, diploma and school students who want a complete, day-wise C foundation in 24 hours (CADD Centre programme).
05Choose your level
Both programmes follow the same 24-hour, day-wise C syllabus; one is certified by CADD Centre and the other by Livewire, so ask the counsellor which batch timing suits you. After C, move to C++ for object-oriented programming, or to Microcontroller & Embedded C if you want an embedded systems career.
