01What you will cover
Build a menu-driven record-management program with file storage.
02Inside the course
C is a general-purpose programming language created by Dennis Ritchie at Bell Labs in the early 1970s. It gives you close control over memory and hardware while still being readable, which is why operating systems such as Linux, many compilers and most embedded firmware are written in it.
Working through C Programming, you will learn to set up a C environment and write, compile and run C programs, use variables, data types, constants, storage classes, type casting and operators correctly and write programs with if-else, switch-case, while, do-while and for loops.
You will work with GNU GCC compiler, C standard library I/O functions and Header files; the Course on C programme includes modules such as Introduction to C, Variables, Data Types and Operators and Control Statements and Functions.
Roles to aim for include Junior C Programmer – writes and maintains C code for applications or tools and Embedded Software Trainee – writes C firmware for microcontrollers after further embedded training. No prior programming is needed. Basic computer use and school-level maths are enough to begin.
