02Inside the course
What the Python internship builds on
Python is a general-purpose programming language known for its clean, readable syntax. It was created by Guido van Rossum and is maintained as open source by the Python Software Foundation.
Working through Python, you will learn to set up Python, Anaconda and an IDE and run your own programs, use data types, operators, control structures and built-in data structures correctly and write reusable functions, lambdas, modules and packages.
You will work with Python 3, Anaconda and Python IDEs and Tkinter; the Essential in Python for Professionals programme includes modules such as Introduction and Setup, Basics, Data Types and Operators and Fundamentals and Control Flow.
Roles to aim for include Python Developer – writes and maintains Python applications and scripts and Django / Backend Developer – builds web back ends, APIs and database logic. Basic computer use and simple school-level maths are enough. No earlier coding experience is needed, though knowing C helps you move faster.
