What the Cloud Computing internship builds on
Cloud computing means renting servers, storage, databases and networking over the internet instead of buying hardware. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is one of the largest cloud platforms.
Working through Cloud Computing (AWS), you will learn to explain cloud computing models and core AWS services, launch and manage Linux and Windows EC2 instances and install web services on them and create EBS volumes, snapshots and S3 buckets with the right storage classes and access control.
You will work with AWS Management Console and CLI, Amazon EC2 and AWS Lambda and Amazon EBS, S3 and Glacier; the Course on Cloud Computing programme includes modules such as Networking, Servers and Cloud Basics, Amazon EC2 and Lambda and Amazon EBS and Snapshots.
Roles to aim for include Cloud Support Associate – helps users and teams troubleshoot cloud services and accounts and Cloud Engineer (Junior) – builds and manages servers, storage and networks on AWS. Basic computer use is needed. The course begins with networking and server basics, but some familiarity with Linux commands, IP addresses or databases will help you move faster.
