What the Data Analytics internship builds on
Data analytics is the work of cleaning, exploring and presenting data so that people can see what is happening and act on it. This course uses Tableau, a leading visual analytics tool now owned by Salesforce.
Working through Data Analytics, you will learn to install Tableau Desktop and work confidently in its interface, connect to files with live and extract connections and use the Excel interpreter and prepare data by filtering, sorting, excluding, splitting fields and handling missing values.
You will work with Tableau Desktop, Live and extract connections and Excel interpreter; the Course on Data Analytics programme includes modules such as Getting Started with Tableau, Data Preparation and Charts and Visualisations.
Roles to aim for include Data Analyst – cleans data, finds trends and presents them in reports and dashboards and Tableau Developer – builds and maintains Tableau dashboards for business teams. Basic computer skills and comfort with Excel are enough. School-level maths helps; no programming is required.
