02Inside the course
What the Electronics internship builds on
This programme gives that base, and prepares you for Electrical CAD, wiring harness or EV courses. The Executive Diploma in Basic Electrical is a short 20-hour programme that explains how electricity works and how it is used safely in buildings and machines.
Working through Basic Electrical (Executive Diploma), you will learn to read standard electrical symbols and a simple wiring diagram, use basic measuring instruments such as a multimeter and explain voltage, current, resistance and power in simple terms.
You will work with Ohm's law and circuit calculations, Single-phase and three-phase basics and Protection devices (fuse, MCB, RCCB); the Executive Diploma Basic Electrical programme includes modules such as Electrical Fundamentals, Circuits and DC and AC Supply.
Roles to aim for include Electrical Drafting Trainee – prepares simple layouts after further CAD training and Sales / Service Support (Electrical Products) – explains and supports electrical products for customers. No prior electrical knowledge is needed. School-level physics and basic maths are enough.
