02Inside the course

What the Microcontroller internship builds on

You set registers, read sensors, drive displays and motors, and make the chip talk to other chips and modules. These courses teach four popular families: the 8051, PIC (PIC16F877A and PIC18F4550), AVR ATmega16 and the ARM7-based LPC2148.

Working through Microcontroller & Embedded C, you will learn to drive DC, stepper and servo motors and relays, and generate PWM signals, program timers, counters, interrupts, watchdog timers and the ARM Vectored Interrupt Controller and read analog sensors using on-chip ADCs and configure PLL and power control on the LPC2148.

You will work with PIC18F4550 with MPLAB and C18, AVR ATmega16 with AVR Studio and ARM7 LPC2148; the Course on Microcontroller programme includes modules such as Interfacing with PIC16F877A, ARM7 LPC2148 Architecture and LPC2148 Core Peripherals.

Roles to aim for include Embedded Hardware Engineer – designs and tests boards that use microcontrollers and interfaces and Embedded Test Engineer – tests firmware on real boards and reports defects. Basic digital electronics knowledge helps. The Course on Microcontroller introduces C from the start; for the Advanced Microcontroller course, some C programming and basic microcontroller exposure is recommended.

03How it runs

Four steps to your certificate

01

Orientation

Set-up, goals and a quick check of what you already know about microcontroller families.

02

Guided practice

Short sessions on programming in embedded c and ports, timers and interrupts, each followed by hands-on lab exercises.

03

Mini-project

Build your project step by step with trainer reviews.

04

Review & certificate

05FAQ

Microcontroller internship – FAQ

Still have a question? The counsellor at the centre you prefer replies on WhatsApp.

Ask on WhatsApp
How long is the Microcontroller internship?

The Microcontroller internship runs for 20–104 hours, depending on the track you choose. Weekday, weekend and fast-track batches are available.

Who should join the Microcontroller internship?

It is best suited to ECE, EEE and E&I students. A counsellor can check your background in a quick call or WhatsApp chat.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes – you receive an internship completion certificate after completing the programme and the project review.

Is it a paid internship?

It is a fee-based internship course you can take while still studying, with a mini-project and certificate. It is not a job and does not include a stipend. Graduates who have completed their degree can apply for a stipend-based internship with CareerKraft on our Work with us page.

How long are the courses?

The Course on Advanced Microcontroller and the Course on Microcontroller are each 64 hours.

Which course should I choose?

Pick the Course on Microcontroller if you are a beginner – it covers 8051, PIC16F877A and ARM7. Pick the Course on Advanced Microcontroller if you know the basics and want AVR, PIC18, ARM and I2C, SPI and CAN.

Where can I do it?

At CareerKraft Katpadi (Near Aascars Cinemas), Vellore (Near Raja Theatre) or Ranipet (Near SBI, Muthukadai) – in classroom, online or hybrid mode.
