Machine builders and motor-vehicle makers
Design, tolerances and CNC roles.
Italy’s machinery and automotive valley, design studios and construction sector hire engineers and designers. That puts India three and a half to four and a half hours ahead of Rome.
01Italy
Machine builders and car and motorcycle makers cluster in Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy, design and furniture studios fill the north, and building and restoration projects keep construction firms busy.
Italy shares Central European time, so Indian late-afternoon classes land around lunchtime locally.
In Italy’s machinery valley, SolidWorks with GD&T is the usual design pairing, engineers who also run machines often add Mastercam, and PLC is the extra step toward control work.

At around seven hours a week, alongside college or work. Faster or slower is fine; finish each project before moving on.
04Your learning path
You will learn to
Project to build: Universal joint assembly. Model the yokes, cross and pins, then assemble them with mechanical mates and check for interference.
Tools covered: PhotoView 360 rendering, Surface modelling, Sheet metal design, Sketcher with relations and smart dimensions, Assembly design with mechanical mates.
Foundation level: Beginners who want a 60-hour foundation in SolidWorks along with product concept thinking and AI-assisted 3D model generation.
You will learn to
Project to build: Bonus tolerance worksheet. Calculate bonus tolerance for a positioned hole pattern at different actual sizes.
Tools covered: ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard, MMC, LMC and virtual condition, Feature control frames, Hole-basis and shaft-basis systems, Form, orientation, location, profile and runout symbols.
Foundation level: Engineers, designers and quality staff who want a compact 16-hour course to read and apply GD&T on drawings.
You will learn to
Project to build: Dynamic milling of a bracket. Compare a standard contour with a dynamic toolpath for the same part and note the difference in cutting motion.
Tools covered: Engrave and swept cuts, Waterline, scallop, hybrid and raster finishing, Toolpath simulation and verification, Contour, pocket, area and slot toolpaths, 2D geometry and profile creation.
Foundation level: Mechanical diploma and degree students, CNC operators and machinists who want to program CNC milling with Mastercam.
You will learn to
Project to build: Headphone and gear system. In the Proficient level, model a headphone and a gear set, apply metallic materials and animate the gears.
Tools covered: Photometric lights, Sunlight and Daylight systems, Autodesk 3ds Max, Animation layers, constraints and controllers, Particle Flow and space warps (Proficient), UVW Map and Camera Map.
Foundation level: Beginners who want a 40-hour course that goes from the interface to modelling, materials, lighting, rendering and a basic animation.
05Careers
A mechanical design engineer turns a product idea into accurate 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings.
Day to day: create 3D part models and assemblies from sketches, specifications or customer inputs; check assemblies for interference, clearance and motion before prototypes are made.
Skills employers ask for: 2D drafting and drawing standards (ISO/ASME); Sheet metal and surface modelling; GD&T and tolerance stack-up basics.
Where careers start: Trainee / CAD Draughtsman.
A 3D visualiser creates realistic images, panoramas and walkthrough videos of buildings and interiors before they are built.
Day to day: produce walkthrough videos and quick views in Lumion; prepare working drawings and material lists for site execution.
Skills employers ask for: Colour, lighting and material selection; Lumion walkthroughs and animation; V-Ray materials, lighting and rendering.
Where careers start: Junior Visualiser / Design Assistant.
A CNC / CAM programmer converts a 3D model into toolpaths and G-code that a CNC lathe, milling machine or machining centre can follow.
Day to day: study part drawings and 3D models to plan machining operations; select tools, holders, speeds, feeds and depths of cut.
Skills employers ask for: 2D and 3D CAM toolpath creation; G-code and M-code basics; Mastercam or NX CAM operations.
Where careers start: CNC Operator / Trainee.

Ask on WhatsAppSolidWorks with GD&T and PLC covers design, tolerances and controls.
3ds Max and V-Ray cover product and interior visuals.
Machine builders and car and motorcycle makers cluster in Emilia-Romagna and Lombardy, design and furniture studios fill the north, and building and restoration projects keep construction firms busy. A sensible order is SolidWorks first, then GD&T once you are comfortable.
Essential in GD&T is 16 hours, with a theory session and a practice session for each topic.
We offer placement support, including resume and portfolio guidance, mock interviews and job leads. We do not guarantee a job; your portfolio and skills matter most.
You can. Every course is available as a live online class, and learners in Italy who want lab time can add an occasional visit to one of the centres in Tamil Nadu.
