01Spain

Spain renewables, vehicles and construction

Wind and solar developers, vehicle plants in Catalonia, Aragon and Castilla, and a tourism-and-property construction market give engineers and planners steady work.

Spain shares Central European time, so an Indian late-afternoon class falls around lunchtime locally.

For a Spanish renewable-energy or construction employer, a useful order is electrical CAD first, power-system analysis second, and Primavera once scheduling responsibilities appear.

Where the jobs are

Renewable-energy developers

Electrical design and power-system roles.

Automotive plants and suppliers

Design and quality roles.

Construction and property firms

BIM, drafting and scheduling.

03Joining from Spain

How learning works

Learners in Spain study live online; Spain is about three and a half to four and a half hours behind India.

Where we teach: classroom batches run at our Katpadi, Vellore and Ranipet centres in Tamil Nadu; learners elsewhere join live online or hybrid batches.

04Your learning path

From Spain, step by step

Electrical Power System Analysis 40–64 h

You will learn to

  • Explain the structure of a power system, energy sources and the role of generators, transformers, bus bars, isolators and arresters
  • Run load flow, short circuit and motor acceleration studies in ETAP
  • Describe types of substations, bus-bar arrangements and substation layouts

Project to build: 11 kV/400 V substation SLD. Draw a complete single line diagram of a distribution substation using standard symbols, first on paper and then in ETAP.

Tools covered: Ground grid design (IEEE and FEM methods), Relay coordination, Cable sizing, Short circuit analysis, Motor acceleration study.

Foundation level: Students and engineers who want a shorter 40-hour version focused on power system basics, single line diagrams and the main ETAP studies.

Electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical) 64–80 h

You will learn to

  • Run audits and generate BOM, wire and panel reports
  • Draw wires, ladders and signal arrows with automatic wire numbering
  • Insert and edit PLC modules and number PLC I/O wires

Project to build: DOL and star-delta starter schematic. Draw motor starter control and power circuits with wire numbers and cross-references.

Tools covered: Electrical and drawing audits, AutoCAD Electrical Project Manager, Ladder and PLC module tools, Panel footprints, DIN rails and Terminal Editor, Catalog Browser and component libraries.

Foundation level: Beginners who need AutoCAD drafting basics first and then full AutoCAD Electrical schematic, PLC and panel work in 64 hours.

CATIA 40–80 h

You will learn to

  • Draw and fully constrain profiles in the Sketcher
  • Design sheet metal parts with walls, flanges, hems, bends and unfolding
  • Navigate CATIA V5 workbenches, toolbars, compass and specification tree

Project to build: Bottle or mouse surface model. Build wireframe curves and multi-section and fill surfaces to shape a smooth product.

Tools covered: Specification tree and compass, Constraint and dress-up feature tools, Assembly Design, Generative Sheetmetal Design, Part Design.

Professional level: Engineers and designers who want an 80-hour, job-ready CATIA V5 programme – advanced part design, knowledgeware, large assemblies, advanced sheet metal, surfacing and full drawing detailing.

Revit (Architecture, Structure & MEP) 40–80 h

You will learn to

  • Prepare sheets, title blocks and revisions and export to CAD, IFC and DWF
  • Create schedules, material take-offs, rooms, areas and colour schemes
  • Create HVAC ducts, piping, lighting, power and plumbing systems in Revit MEP

Project to build: Rendered walkthrough. Apply materials, set sun and lighting, and create a walkthrough and solar study of your design.

Tools covered: Revit MEP (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection), Export to CAD, IFC and DWF, Family Editor and adaptive components, Worksharing, links and Copy/Monitor, Structural analytical model and rebar.

Foundation level: Beginners who want a 40-hour start in Revit Architecture, from walls and roofs to schedules and documentation.

05Careers

Roles that fit work around Spain

Power System Engineer

A power system engineer studies how electricity flows through generators, transformers, cables, lines and loads, and makes sure the network is safe, reliable and efficient.

Day to day: size cables, transformers and switchgear; coordinate protection relay settings.

Skills employers ask for: Power system fundamentals (per-unit, faults, load flow); Technical report writing; Power quality and harmonics basics.

Where careers start: Graduate Engineer.

Mechanical Design Engineer

A mechanical design engineer turns a product idea into accurate 3D models, assemblies and 2D manufacturing drawings.

Day to day: create 3D part models and assemblies from sketches, specifications or customer inputs; maintain design revisions and release files through the company's PDM/PLM system.

Skills employers ask for: Clear communication with shop-floor and quality teams; Sheet metal and surface modelling; 2D drafting and drawing standards (ISO/ASME).

Where careers start: Trainee / CAD Draughtsman.

Architectural Draughtsman

An architectural draughtsman prepares the drawings that turn a building idea into something a contractor can build.

Day to day: maintain drawing registers, layers and title-block standards; update drawings after design changes and site feedback.

Skills employers ask for: Architectural drawing conventions and symbols; Building construction and materials basics; AutoCAD 2D drafting and layer management.

Where careers start: Junior Draughtsman.

08FAQ

Spain – FAQ

Still have a question? Message us on WhatsApp.

Ask on WhatsApp
Which course helps in a renewable-energy firm?

Electrical power system analysis with electrical CAD covers studies and drawings.

Can I attend from the Canary Islands?

The islands are an hour behind mainland Spain; a counsellor confirms batch times.

Which course should I start with in Spain?

Wind and solar developers, vehicle plants in Catalonia, Aragon and Castilla, and a tourism-and-property construction market give engineers and planners steady work. A sensible order is Electrical Power System Analysis first, then Electrical CAD (AutoCAD Electrical) once you are comfortable.

How long is each Revit level?

Essential in Revit Architecture, Essential in Revit Structure and Essential in Revit MEP are 40 hours each. Proficient in Revit Architecture and Proficient in Revit MEP are 80 hours each.

Which version should I choose?

Choose the 64-hour version for all ETAP modules including harmonics, arc flash and ground grid, plus a final project. Choose the 40-hour version if you want the essentials in less time.

Can I learn online from Spain?

Yes, from home. Classes are live with a trainer, recorded practice files are shared after each session, and the certificate is the same whether you learn online or in a classroom.
