How to become a Java Developer
Build reliable enterprise software with Java. Learn core and advanced Java, SQL and web back-end skills.
01The role
What does a Java Developer do?
A Java developer builds and maintains software using Java, a language trusted by banks, insurance companies, telecom operators, e-commerce platforms and government systems. The work usually involves writing back-end services, connecting to databases, handling business rules and making applications secure and fast. Java's object-oriented design and huge ecosystem make it a long-term favourite for large systems that must run reliably for years.
Freshers are expected to know core Java well, including OOP, collections, exceptions and multithreading, then advanced topics such as JDBC, servlets and JSP, and increasingly frameworks like Spring. IT service firms in Chennai, Bengaluru and across India recruit Java freshers in large numbers every year. Strong problem-solving, good SQL and a couple of working projects help candidates clear technical interviews.
