SQL Course in Vellore, Katpadi & Ranipet

Learn SQL on Microsoft SQL Server to create databases, store and update data, and write queries and joins that answer real business questions.

1 level50 h63 topics3 centresClassroom · Online · Hybrid

01What is SQL

What is SQL? In plain words.

SQL (Structured Query Language) is the standard language for working with relational databases. With it you create databases and tables, insert and update records, control who can access data, and write queries that filter, sort, join and summarise information. This course uses Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), but the core SQL you learn carries over to MySQL, PostgreSQL and Oracle with only small differences.

Almost every business application – banking, billing, hospital records, e-commerce, ERP – keeps its data in a relational database. Developers use SQL to build and connect applications, testers use it to check data, and data analysts use it every day to pull the numbers behind reports and dashboards. That is why SQL appears in job descriptions for software developers, data analysts, report developers and support engineers alike.

Students from the many engineering and arts colleges around Vellore and Katpadi regularly apply to IT and analytics firms in Chennai and Bengaluru, where SQL is tested in interviews. Hospitals and businesses in the region also need staff who can manage and report on data.

  • Use aggregate, string, date and scalar functions with WHERE, ORDER BY and UNION
  • Write subqueries, inner and outer joins, views, indexes and transactions

02Why learn it

Why learn SQL now?

Six reasons students and professionals in Vellore district pick this skill.

Needed in many IT roles

Developers, analysts, testers and support engineers all query databases as part of their daily work.

The first step into data analytics

Before Power BI or Python, analysts pull and shape data with SQL queries.

Skills that carry across databases

Learn on SQL Server and adapt easily to MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle.

Answer real questions with joins

Combine customer, order and product tables to find exactly the data you need.

Understand how applications store data

Tables, keys, views, indexes and transactions explain what happens behind every app.

Short and practical

A 50-hour hands-on course that non-IT graduates can also follow.

03Who can learn

Who can join this course?

BE/BTech CSE, IT and ECE students

Add database skills that campus and off-campus interviews test.

BCA, MCA and BSc Computer Science students

Strengthen your DBMS knowledge with hands-on SQL Server practice.

BCom and BBA graduates

Move towards data analyst and MIS roles that rely on SQL.

Aspiring data analysts

Build the query skills needed before learning Power BI or Python.

Software testers and support engineers
